We are pleased to announce the continuation of our 2023-2024 Parent University Sessions. We would like to invite you to join us tomorrow as Ms. Pereira, our Medical Assistant, shares important information about Hearing and Vision.

Early detection of hearing difficulties can significantly improve academic performance, as well as speech, language, and social skills. Meanwhile, a vision examination is a crucial step in preparing children.

Good vision is essential to reading and learning during the school years. Any vision problems should be detected and treated early on before they lead to learning and/or behavior problems.

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is conducting a survey of parents of students receiving special education services. Your responses provide important information to our school district to help us improve family-school partnerships, and also helps TEA measure how districts are doing all across the state. You can skip any question you do not want to answer or go back and change answers as you go. Please keep in mind your responses are anonymous and the information you provide cannot be traced back to you or your child.

Most of you were selected to participate in this survey. Please check your child’s backpack today. If you were selected, your child will have a flyer with their name, the link for the survey, and the student PIN which is needed to access the survey. Please complete the survey by May 17th.

The following information is on behalf of the Christian Community Service Center CCSC.
Please read their communication carefully so you can follow the process established by the agency.

Christian Community Service Center (CCSC), a trusted local nonprofit, is gearing up for its annual Back to School event. Since 1986, CCSC has equipped thousands of students to begin the academic year. This year we hope to help 4,000 underserved students. Each registered student in pre-K through 12th grade will receive:
• A $50 clothing gift card to Old Navy/GAP that can be used in stores or online.
• A grade-appropriate school supply package
• A high-quality backpack

Parents, please follow these three easy steps:

Preregister online at CCSC Back To School 2024 Preregistration.

The form will be available April 1-19. Spaces are limited.

Attending our Registration Event in person in May and showing the required documents. Further instructions will be sent to the family after pre-registering.
Collect supplies, backpacks, and gift cards at our Back-to-School community event in early August.

Please note:
• Our program targets families with limited financial resources who live in 33 zip codes covering most of central and southwest Houston.
• If a parent or guardian cannot attend the May Registration Event in person, he/she may send a trusted adult advocate with the required documents to the Registration Event.
